tape glove

Post by Guest »

So ,I'm doing hard and plenty o' trad climbing.(at least 2 pitches of 5.2!!!!).the problem is my tape gloves pull off the hair on the backside of my hands, the hair on my palms and the hair on my wrists. Should I go ahead and shave. How weird would I look?I know of plenty of bike riders who shave their legs.Any alternative suggestions would be appreciated.

When you make your tape gloves, start with a layer of tape with the sticky side facing up. This way the gloves are reusable. Make them long enough so they cover the hair on your wrist. All you need to do is wrap a new piece of tape around your wrist each time.

I just shaved the hair off. It's not noticable. Gloves pulling hair distracts you while climbing.Wish I had done it sooner,I just kept forgetting.

The tape keeps you from shredding the back of your hand in meat eating cracks.
It helps with the friction too but the primary purpose is skin pro.the abrasions look way worse than some missing hair that no one notices. my wife hasnt noticed, why would a stranger? It is starting to fgrow back so its not a permanent fix.

Seems to me if you really have that much hair, then maybe you don't need tape gloves.

Yeah but now you will have to keep shaving them or else the hair will grow like 4 inches long.
