Deer flies

Post by Jeff »

I've hardly noticed them this year.
Anyone else, or have I just been lucky?

I've run in to more wasps/hornets then past years but less deer flies and mosquitoes. I was just thinking about that last weekend.

Only a couple, now that you mention it.

I haven't seen all that many either.
Just in case you do however, Dr. Bob turned me on to the best deer fly beta yet. They are attracted to light or shiny colors. He had a strip of white two sided tape on the back of his hat one day with close to a dozen of the little demons stuck to it.
I tried it out and it works.

Just be sure to wear a hat. That tape was hell to get out of my hair

You (and Dr. Bob) are right Eric. Every time I get in my truck, the deer flies hover around my rearview mirrors.
