Today we’re happy to announce that the Access Fund is providing the RRGCC short-term financing to restructure the current seller-financed loan on the Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve. That’s a long way of saying the Access Fund is helping the RRGCC save nearly $10,000 dollars in interest payments by loaning us, via the Access Fund’s Land Conservation Campaign, $65,000 at 2.5%.

it gets even better!
The refinance will also eliminate the risk of losing the property to a private third-party, since a missed annual payment under the previous seller-financed loan would have returned the property to the seller and the funds raised by climbers would have been lost.

The refinance deal will set aside approximately $15,000 for land management costs of the Pendergrass-Murray property, as well as funds to allow RRGCC to pursue more climbing areas in the region.
:-D

definitely a lot of good things going around.. but i caution on the mission accomplished. if we do call it mission accomplished, we have a new mission:

Awesome!

LOL, but if I were you, I would have kept it quiet... or else people get this idea that it is all good now, no further effort/donation/contribution is required from them personally.

As it is, I was having this conversation with people i went climbing with a couple of weeks ago. Two of them were relatively new and infrequent visitors to the Red, so when they saw a "RRGCC is your project, SEND IT!" poster at Lago Linda, they paid attention and started asking questions. I was in the middle of my "everyone has to contribute, how much is this weekend worth to you, surely $10 is not a big deal, you liked climbing in the Southern region yesterday, all that effort that went into development, imagine loosing PMRP... etc. etc." spiel-- when another woman I was with, a climber with 10 years of experience who is at the Red every other weekend, piped in saying :"nah, they always hype it up, but somehow they always come up with those $30k every year without my help, not a big deal!" GRRRRR!!!!
