I want to send a HUGE thank you to Rick Weber. Not only for what he's done for climbing with Muir Valley bur for his search and rescue activity.

Since he began with Wolf County Search and Rescue, he has introduced safer and faster methods for evacuation and transport that are saving lives. I don't know the extensiveness of it (number of lives saved, etc.) but I do know that just recently, after introducing the Yosemite Rescue method to the Team, they were called to use it to within 24 hours of practicing/learning it and saved a guy's life after he fell 150 ft. The guy was bleeding internally and the team later learned that the swift rescue effort could very well have saved the guy’s life.

Now I know it's the entire team who deserves credit for their hard work and selflessness. Their effort cannot be emphasized enough. But I would also like to salute Rick especially for the advanced methods he has introduced to the team.

Rick - thanks for your effort and passion for making things better. In this case, the result is saving lives.

Rick is picking up where Don Fig left off. Thanks to both.

Drove by Roadside last week and saw some folks out improving the trail. The trails are so good at the red (minus the Zoo of course) we have even started improving the good ones.

Any trail days in May? I'm thinking of moving out there for the whole month.

the zoo needs a fire escape type ladder...forget it on a wet day...

No, you should organize one.

I'm sure you were not implying we were wasting our time.

And F.Y.I I "adopted" roadside and agreed to do a trail day at least once a year (which I love doing, it gives me somthing to do). We need more folks to do the same. Lets face it I am not going to volunteer to run trail days on every crag. I will do my part but we need more folks to pitch in. Maybe the Zoo will get some love then too.
