Some time in the coming weeks I'm going to be taking a group of my coworkers climbing and I'd like to both be as considerate as I can to my fellow climbers and give my coworkers a good experience. The total group will be about 10 people I think, this includes myself and a couple other climbers. Where would you guys recommend that would meet both of my criteria?

When you figure out where you are going, be considerate to the rest of us. Let us know what crag to avoid and when. Roadside has rules against such a large party.

Bruise Brothers is probably your best bet. at least then you'll be around other bumblies and not somewhere where "real" or "serious" climbers are going to shoot you dirty looks and complain loudly all day.

Practice Wall would be even better b/c it has more easy routes to choose from. It's close to Bruise Brothers too so your group can see taller climbs even if they might not get to play on them due to large crowds.

It's not really a matter of ability level or experience, it's just that a 10-person group coming to the crag together is ridiculous and inconsiderate. Whatever happened to going for a hike for Chrissake? Even guides wouldn't gangbang a crag with a group this size.

Princess Arch, or some other place no one goes too. I think the mall was the best response.

maybe 'Land of the Arches' might be a place where a biggish group could learn the ropes. the link to their website mentioned virgin rock for new routes that could be toproped and cleaned, good rookie experience.

If you aren't familiar enough with the area to know the answer, do you think you are the right person to take such a large group climbing for the first time?

I think Bruise Brothers or Practice Wall might be the best options.


The likelihood is, if this is a group of people who have never climbed before, they will try one or two routes at most, and will be done, and most of them would be content to just hang out and chat, instead of climbing.
