So no matter where you are in your life right now, are you over the top happy? Whether you are a student, married, have kids, work too much, climb too much, suck at 5.10, rip thru 5.14....unemployed,etc...

I started a new job, and am working way more than before, and am loving every minute of it. I noticed it now places a premium on my freetime, and climbing has taken a back seat, and I am OK with that. I know I used climbing as an "escape" from an other wise average job. Now I know passion can be had on many levels.

What areas do you use to escape? What areas are pure bliss for you?

I love my life! I'm going to love it more when I retire, though. I have passion for my work as well, Piggie, but, I'm at the age when I look forward to working a wee bit and having more time for my other passions. In my future....more family time, climbing, climbing family time, running, yoga, hiking, knitting, sewing, gardening, reading, writing, building that cabin, landscaping my campsites, seeing the country, and just being free to be me!

I can't think of anything that's actually missing from my life, except two precious souls who left too soon, but I need to change the balance a tad.

Well, you asked.......

I actually just lost my job (outsourced), had a heart attack 2 weeks ago, lost my grandma last week, and am losing all the gains from the last 6 months of my strictest training/diet regimen ever as I sit her typing. However...... strangely, life is still pretty damn good and I can honestly say I am very happy. I have two great kids, a wife, my climbing membership is still valid, and I live in a beautiful place. While the uncertainty of finding a job is a bit disconcerning, the flip side of that is also very exciting. Like Pigsteak said, my last job was very unsastifying and I stayed there for 10 years purely out of convenience. Now, for the first time in a long time, the sky is the limit. I am considering being a 33 year old college kid again to persue something that may bring much more substance into my life.. For the first time in a long time it has occured to me that there just may be something else out there that will do what climbing has done for me all these years? And who would have thought it may come in the form of work

My life is awesome. I have the greatest family and an awesome fulfilling job. My friends aren't half bad either.

Just found out a month ago that I'm gonna be a dad... Life is good!

I find it hard not to be this awsome. I rock!!

Life is good, friends are great, and I'm retiring in a couple of years.
