8) genius...his sound is an aquired taste. It's like chocolate dipped habenero's, most people can't handle it but for those that dig it...there's no substitute.

Yeah, if you get an opportunity to watch Big Time, do it. Here is a snip of one of my favorites, Jockey Full of Bourbon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54YhQZN5Uq8

The song Downtown Train was a cover by Rod Stewart of the Tom Waits song: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downtown_Train

If I remember right, someone covered a Tom Waits song before he even got a chance to release it. Maybe the Ramones? Krampus may know.

Anyway, his voice is unmistakable and he is for sure a rare talent.

You don't mean Scarlett Johansson. Just kidding, I hadn't hear that bcombs, I know they cover "I don't wanna grow up" But I have no idea if it was before or after blood money. That is a pretty interesting movie by the way "Down By Law" and a good climb too. Other good movies with tome waits:

"Domino" cool action filled bounty hunter movie perfect waits cameo

"Wrist Cutter- A love Story" exactly that, a love story but with a bit of a twist, really fun to watch though, and a supporting role by the lead singer of Gogel Bordelo

With the recording capabilities of the BBC you hear it real on the Old Grey Whistle Test. If you like music from the 70's & 80's there are some real gem OGWT performances on the tube. Here's a little Humble Pie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5v3bZP9oNXs
