Ok my harness and rope are needing to be replaced before I do any climbing in the spring and I'm going to be purchasing new harness and rope before spring. I've had the same harness now for awhile and wanted to know which harness is the best buy right now? I'm not looking to spend a lot of money.....maybe $150 tops for a harness. any suggestions?

150 can buy you pretty much any harness. i got a BD Focus AL which is nice but not insanely expensive (~$80). i wanted one of the swoopty expensive jobs but i couldn't get one to fit my fat thighs.

Arc'teryx makes the lightest and most comfortable/breathable harnesses right now and they are under 150.

Misty Mountain Threadworks is a small company based in NC that makes high quality harnesses from $40 to $150. For climbing around the RRG you wouldn't need one of the most expensive harnesses which are generally catered to big wall climbers.

I personally like the Metolius SafeTech Mens Deluxe. Got all the beefy backups for anchoring and quite comfy too. I believe everything on it is actually full strength actually come to think of it..... Although if you are not planning on doing multipitch etc it may be overkill for you. The BD Momentum and focus are sweet harnesses they lasted me a long time of whipping to hell on em at the crags. Arc'teryx harnesses look super sweet and I have heard that you can hang in em for a while without the legs going numb. I had the chance to hang in one at the Gendarme at Seneca at it was surprisingly nice for being practically made of nothing. BUT you will pay top dollar for those babies.

Good Luck!
