I get quite a few requests for them. In the past, I usually just give them away to people that were there helping, or to friends, etc. Since they are getting kinda scarce, going to give you all a chance at a few of them. Will start with three.
1. Show up Saturday at climbers that care with the biggest donation.
2. Will randomly pick one of the next 10 people to donate at least $10 to the teamsuck bolting fund

3. I wore a hole in my gri-gri last year and haven't replaced it yet, so if you have one that you aren't using and want to trade, pm/email me. Will save me getting in trouble with the wife for using hers to bolt/rebolt, etc.

Question... this video was put out by Fixe, I'm not trying to bash the SUM, I don't really know anything about it. Does anyone know if the SUM can be used in ATC mode if it gets stuck open like this? Since the rope looks like its coming in from the bottom, can you lock it off if it fails?

It's the shape of the biner that's causing that. There are more options of biners than that one and the Petzl Williams we use works just fine.

@wes - Splitter Choss is running a contest to see who has the most worn out Gri Gri with the prize being, of course, a new Gri Gri.

holy crap! The photo of the grigri on that link is terrible! whoever let their grigri get that bad is a complete retard. luckily, if they keep making decisions like climbing with that sort of equipment, they wont be around to infect the gene pool.

Might have to look into a sum, but maybe someone with a SUM and a gri-gri would be willing to part with the old school technology? Or, if the is a SUM out there that needs a home, would be glad to trade for one of those as well.
The two holes in mine are not big enough to win awards, but are big enough for my wife to force it's retirement to the torrent belay device collection.
The teamsuck fund hasn't seen a whole lot of action - $10 gets you a one in ten chance at a little bit of rrg history and instant cred at the crag - just think of how cool you will look with one of those on your rack...

Have a gri-gri now. So, be sure to check the teamsuckclimbing.com site, or show up with a ton of stuff Saturday!

Since no one seems to be psyched on the whole donation thing, just going to end that and send a hanger to the one person that donated.
So, really hope that means people are getting donations together for Saturday!
