Big Gear

Post by Cleveland »

Does anyone have an Big Bros or 5 and 6 cams I could borrow. I am wanting to get on Yuk out at Long Wall but the biggest piece I have is a #4. If you could help I would much appreciate it.

Seems I remember talking with a guy from the Northeast who said it was Big Bros or 2x4s, cams did you know good. Swear he said he lead it on one big bro, all he had. Said it was a pretty spooky lead.

unless you're racking valley giants, 2x4s look like your best bet on that thing.

#6 will protect that thing. It's gross.

#6 is really tipped out down low, and probably useless most of the way after that.

Sure. you can use my gear. I know where I can get another set too. You got a partner lined up? I was always tempted to get on that thing.

Big cams are a lot like women. They are a pain in the ass to drag around, but when you really need to stick one in, they're perfect.

just thought I'd say that.

There's several OW's that are a lot more fun that you should do first. Last pitch of Good Tang, Muscle shoals, Full moon, A couple at the trash compactor at pebble,Cussin Crack. I think Ritwick and Bob dropped a rope on Yuk from the top of Mailbox once. I would try that before leading it just to see how it climbs. Kinda looks like an endurance thrash.

It has been a long long time since being on mailbox, but I don't think you could get to the top of yuk from it. You might be able to tr some of the lower section...but your better option would probably be to get to the top somehow and locate that tree at the top of yuk.
