MSNBC on "yuppie 911"

Post by Wes »

To kinda continue some of the discussion for the roadside accident thread, I thought this was an interesting article. Maybe replace hiker with climber in a few of the places as well..

"In the past, people who got in trouble self-rescued; they got on their hands and knees and crawled out," says John Amrhein, the county's emergency coordinator. "We saw the increase in non-emergencies with cell phones: people called saying 'I'm cold and damp. Come get me out.' These take it to another level."

Once again a law is needed to keep people from being stupid. If you are smart enough to buy a personal locator beacon, you are smart enough to know when it is idiotic to push the damn button.
The theory of evolution is just as stupid as the theories of gravity and electromagnetism.
