What rope do i need ?

Hi,

i will go to red river gorge at the 10. of october. How long r the most routes there ?
Do i need a 70m or 80m rope ?

50 works for many routes, but 60 works for 99%.

if you are doing any trad, you may want two ropes... some require double ropes for the rappel.

One 60m would be adequate for 99.9% of trad routes in the Red, you just may have to get creative, or may have to walk a few yards and not rap the route.

I climbed for over 10 years in the Red and got by with a single 60 the entire time.

Climbing 10 years with a single rope? Probably time to retire that rope and get a new one. :lol:

O.k :D , i read there is a climbing shop at miguels ? I need a new rope, is it possible to buy it there ? How much is a 70 or 80m rope there ?
