For the last 9 years the climbers of East Tennessee have come out one day a year to give back to our favorite crag. Let’s make the 10th year the best ever! ! !

Come out and support the 10th annual Access Fund Adopt a Crag Day and ETCC fundraiser at the Obed Wild and Scenic River on September 12, 2009. Please SAVE THE DATE and make plans to come out to work and play with your friends.

**Make sure and bring your climbing stuff, as I am sure there will be plenty of time for climbing.***

Date: Saturday, September 12, 2009.
Time: 9:00 am until ~

Schedule: 9:00 am meet at Del and Marti's to register, pick up a raffle ticket and get work assignment.
9:30 leave for project
10:00 am - 2:00 pm work
2:00 pm - 2:30 pm lunch
2:30 pm - 6:00 pm finish work and climb
6:30 pm - games, announcements, raffle, dinner, silent auction and fun (bring your own beverages)

Make sure and pick up your raffle ticket in the morning. The tickets are really important because the number of tickets given out lets us know how much food to buy for dinner. Without a ticket you cannot win the great prizes donated by our wonderful sponsors.

Morning Registration: Coffee and sweets will be available, provided by the National Park Service.

Meeting Place: (before and after) and center of operations will be at Del and Marti's Lilly Pad, directions will follow in another e-mail.

Parking: There is only limited parking available at the Lilly Pad so please park at South Clear, check out the new gravel, and take the short trail to the fun.

Supplies: Each volunteer will be responsible for their own lunch and water, also please bring tools (branch loppers, shovels, gloves, chainsaws, etc.). We need a lot of tools this year. If you have pulaski, fire rakes or an adz BRING 'EM. We also need a couple of post hole diggers and a couple of chain saws.

Special Note: The Obed has millions of ticks, they are all waiting to eat climbers at the work sites. MAKE “EM STARVE ! ! ! ! Bring insect repellent! The stronger the better!

This Year's Projects
This year's projects will be negotiated with the Park Service and have not been finalized, so if you have any recommendations please send Rick Bost an e-mail.

Request for Your Least Favorite Anchors
During the last few years the SCC has provided hardware to facilitate replacement of anchors. This year we will continue anchor replacement. So if you know of a route where the anchors are in need of attention please let me know by e-mail at least a couple of weeks before the event so we can make plans and register with the NPS to replace them.

Other Stuff:
1. Last year we requested that everyone bring their own cups plates and dinnerware. Our effort to reduce trash was a success. So please bring your own and pack it out. Less work for the next day.
2. There will be cool prizes and a silent auction for other cool stuff (thanks again sponsors). The proceeds benefit the ETCC and will stay at the Obed. PLEASE BRING CASH OR CHECKS. We cannot accept credit cards.
3. The ETCC will also be selling those really cool OBED bumper stickers and brushes.
4. High School Climbing League coaches, please encourage your students to participate.

More information will follow as we get things more organized.
