May 9 - Next Saturday

Dr. Michael Law, an Australian rock climber, route developer, and Materials and Engineering scientist will be giving a presentation next Saturday night at 8 PM at True North Inn in Pine Ridge. The subject will be climbing in Australia including recent bolt testing he has conducted in Aussie sandstone, similar to our Corbin sandstone.

This would be a good opportunity to check out the new True North Inn's menu offered by new owner, Jeff Columbo. And, enjoy Dr. Law's presentation afterwards.

If you know you will be coming for dinner, please call Jeff at 606-668-3745 and let him know so he will know how many to plan for.[/b]

Slides? movie? I should make it. Sounds interesting. Some Blue Mountain pics would be sweet.

How is the sandstone similar? Age? Provenance? Mineralogy?

Have you really done compressive strength tests on Corbin sandstone? That's cool! i'm guessing you only did a uniaxial test. anyway, can you post the data somewhere?
