Just curious, I got out to do the deed but people are giving me shit about it. The cat was done for and in pain, I did not hit it myself but to leave it alone would have been inhumane in my eyes. Luckily, it died before I got the brick over to it.

Kramp the kitten killer
I'd do the same. I encountered a deer that was hobbeling in the road after being hit. I call the police and they said they could not do anything. After I hung up the dispatcher called back and told me a officer was on his way out to put it down. I dont know what happened to it after that. I would have shot it if I had been armed.

I usually pick up the animal and take it to the vet. I noticed that was not one of the choices. How do you know if it is "done for?" Lots of people would be dead if someone just eyeballed them at the scene of a car wreck and then killed 'em because they were injured. Good thing the cops don't just take out their guns and shoot your ass because you are bloody. They take you to the hospital.

I swear this exact scenario happened to me today. Driving home from work I saw a cat get hit by a car. It was obviously going to die, and was probably already dead, just still moving. I kept driving because it was a busy street, and there was nothing I could do anyway. I'm a little freaked out this showed up on RRC.

yeah, and i just had a cat staring in my back door, and just read about a cat in a book i'm reading! i poured the cat at my door some milk in a saucer, but it ran off. good thing for the cat though cause i was gonna run over it to find out what i would do in the poll scenario.

I have to shoot a lot of rabbits that stupidly wander into the yard. After Duke catches them, it's the humane thing to do.
The neighbors are a little leary of us....hee hee

I did not include the vet scenario because the brick I was holding over its head would convinced me it would not make it. Honestly, it looked exactly like my cat and was in a lot of pain, I am really glad I didn't have to do it, mainly because of the mess a brick would have made. And honestly steep, I firmly believe that if I am not going to recover, put me down too, I don't get why its humane to put down a cat but to put a person out of there misery is murder. If it even looks like I am headed for a life of pooping myself and drooling....just choke me out man.
