MuleTape as Sling

Post by whatahutch »

Has anyone ever used this stuff to make slings out of. I have a bunch of it and I have had people say use it and others that don't . Mine has a 1600 lb weight limit. Some of it is stronger though. I think I have seen it on top of the cliff at Pistol Ridge as anchors, but that was a longtime ago when I saw it.

There is a website selling 3000' of it for 159 bucks.

The durability of Mule Tape make me hesitate to use it for any climbing activity. I don't have any stats to back this up. But just looking at it, it seems to be a lot less durable. Would you bet your life on something that cost $.18 a foot.
