clipping beta for thirsting skull

Post by Horatio Felacio »

so i did thirsting skull a while ago and i have some thoughts on that hard clip at the crux. here's the beta:

going to the 4th clip above the roof you get a sloper for the right and a thin pinch for the right. get your feet up and go up and left to a crimp, go again with your right to a slopey sidepull. the bolt is now at your knee area. make a big crossover with your left to a bucket! now clip the bolt at your knees/shins.

now everyone can go give this thing a good try. good luck.
Yo HO!! Just got me a code red and some funyons big dawg!!! SHIT YEAH! - Ray, excited about his breakfast

"Forest Service personnel began erecting wire fencing at Military Wall, Monday, April 16, 2001 and completed on Friday April 20, 2001. The fencing and signs are in place from Blade Runner and ends at Government Cheese. A request for a Supervisor's Order to give law enforcement officers authority to ticket violators has been made.

This partial closure is temporary. "

It has been over 2 years what exactly is temporary? I was wondering if anybody knew the status of this closure. Last time I was there, Saturday May 30th, the fence was still up. I looked on www.rrgcc.org for some current news about what was being done here but couldn't find any info. other than what I have coppied in above. If anyone could fill me in that would be great.

 I would really love to try H-F's great new beta as I have been practicing reaching down and clipping at my feet :!: Ha Ha.

These areas are still closed, though it isn't readily apparent because some hooligans have ripped down the fences...hmmm.

I heard this weekend that not only does the forest service check out these areas to decide whether to kick us out but they go and check out private property like Roadside and the Mother Lode too, just to see how we treat the cliffs. Just an FYI.

Then again it will be hard to determine if that activity was actually done by climbers. There has been soooo much camping activity along the stream that it's a total ghetto now. BUt the major problem is that one user group can totally effect the outcome ofr everyone!
Just genuinely disengenuous.

It probably was drunk campers or even their dogs. Good point Gretchen. Darn, I was hoping to generate a bitch-fest. Maybe another post...

I was up at Military about 2 months ago and a few of us were climbing Minimum Creep when this older guy came up to us and started asking us the ususal climbing questions... "How do ya' get that there rope up there?" When we were done talking with him, before we could say anything, he just walked over the fence and on down the cliff line... he acted like it wasn't even there... amazing.

I am still wondering what the FS is doing with this site or is that fence still gonna be there when I am 90?

It'll be there forever. Oh and I also found out that the forest service monitors this site. I feel like Big Brother is watching...Eww.

Can forever and temporary be used in the same sentence?
New FS doubble speak....That there spot will temporarilly be closed forever, and then we'll unopen it and temporarilly recolse it permenantly, kay, tu-hu!?!

That about sums it up doesn't it.

Damn that fence is an eye sore up there!

The closure is "temporary" until the ground surface there can be "hardened" to protect the underlying archaeologic site. We are talking about a considerable amount of work and cost. Thus the question is, are these climbs at Military that important to justify either the FS and/or climbers making an expenditure for such a project?
