Great NY Times Article
"The method centers on injecting portions of a patient’s own blood directly into the injured area, which catalyzes the body’s instincts to repair muscle, bone and other tissue. Most enticing, many doctors said, is that the technique appears to help regenerate ligament and tendon fibers, which could shorten rehabilitation time and possibly obviate surgery."

How about having your cousin inject some of those over the counter substances from the Dominican Republic?

It's the same thing as Prolotherapy (where they inject a sugar solution into your joint/ligament/tendon to irritate it more so your body will repair it). I have had it for tendonitis in my fingers and for a torn pulley and for the tendons and ligaments in my ankles after I smashed them. It does help it heal quicker and stronger and you don't have to stop climbing while it works!
