My sister, her family, and my Mom want to go to the New this year to white water raft, and then we will take them climbing for a day or two.

There will be 8 of us. Any suggestions on the best place to secure a cabin to hold all of us. Any places a better deal than others?

Same with the rafting. Any outfitters you suggest over others? When is the best time to go for lower crowds and/or most fun on the water?

Check out AW , they are the best on New or Gauly. They have cabin rental at the outpost and they use to have a micro brew there as well. Only min fron Brigde Buttress.

I have heard good things about Ace, and I think you would know one of their guides form climbing, Kipp....

I've used Ace a couple of times. Their hot lunch on the Upper Gualey is great.

There's an outfitter that puts all their climbing gear in their shop on sale for half off in October. I got 2 full sets of tri-cams for the price of one. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of it. If it comes to me, I'll post it here.

did you look in fayetteville and beckly? Sometimes the cabins there are cheaper than summersville....You may have to drive a little but its worth it.

Not sure about cabins. Talk to Rick W. His friend has a few cabins just outside of Fayetteville. Ditto on Class VI. Used them for 4 years in a row in the fall.
