I apologize if this has been posted before, but I searched and didn't find it. I thought it was interesting reading.

Very interesting. That Mr Martin proposes reopening Pocket Wall is logical.

the danger of government actions were well argued- this is the type of analysis that needs to preceed actions not follow them- sadly the Forest Service lacks the wherewithal to take appropriate rather than just take action and the rashness of that process is obviously evident in destruction, litter and access closure- when we accept this, it is what we'll receive- these are the battles we need to choose to win

Wow, Tom Martin has our backs. That is different. For those of you who don't know, TM was the single guy who set off the entire chain of events that almost got climbing shut down on the DBNF, and really provided the motivation to ban together and form the early version of the RRGCC. Really, we have him to thank for fomenting the crisis that brought us to where we are today. Thanks Tom!

I actually think in the case of Pocket Wall it was all the evil NBSRP and not the FS. Wilson Francis is the spawn of satan who hates climbers who destroy the "delicate patina" of the cliffs in the area.

The FS is much better at MANAGING impacts. The State Park just assumes that the best way to reduce impacts are to reduce use as well.

"Stay on trail", "Don't look a tthe scenery", "In fact, stay at home or go somewhere else!"

John Bronaugh (may he gloriously be equipping the great sand stone crag in the sky as he anxiously awaits us all to come join him) used to say of Wilson Francis-
" I wouldn't piss on him if he were on fire."

Thank you for the clarification and may satan be cast into the flames of hell fire lake- by the way- whose gonna ride that ol' three wheeler, yeah know up to fire lake? I never heard John harsh anyone, this cat must be a real weiner - in fact he may already be a weiner in the publishers' clearing house sweepstakes
