Former RRG Climber's FA in Peru

Post by captain static »

Jim Stanley is a friend of mine from the UC Mountaineering Club and used to climb in the Gorge with Steve Must. He and his partner bagged the FA of Huamashraju (18,000 feet) in Peru and I thought people would enjoy reading the story of his climb - http://www.sopgear.com/newpage2.htm
For any of you who might climb ice, Jim is a mechanical engineer and owns a company that manufactures titanium ice tools.
"Be responsible for your actions and sensitive to the concerns of other visitors and land managers. ... Your reward is the opportunity to climb in one of the most beautiful areas in this part of the country." John H. Bronaugh
