When is Miguel's Closing

Post by GWG »

Heading down to the gorge in early December and interested in knowing when Miguel's is planning on closing. If camping isn't available there, where would you recommend setting up for a week?

Thanks

I looked at lagolinda.com and they don't mention anything about being shut down for winter. It's real close to the southern region and is a swell place to camp.

I'm guessing Miguel closes after thanksgiving but I'm < 100%.

we will close on the 30th of this month. If you show up after that date camping is donation only. Please make your self at home. We will be around if you need chalk or anything else.

Excellent info for all. Didnt know we could 'homestead' out back once the season ended. Will watch for a nice spell of good weather near 60's to return if I can now.

Hey, that was my first impression but I read about how good it can be at times, so I'll watch for a stretch of 50 plus weather. Camping at 10 below is the norm for me anyway ( read, 'ice climber') so I just might take the chance this year.

I suggest LagoLinda.. quiet, peacful, free showers and close to the crags. Electric at the sites if you need it.

Anybody been to this Land of the Arches place? I checked their web out. There is a climbing cliff right on premesis, looks to be bolted too. Is it a private chunk of cliff or an extension of a known and public use climbing crag? Anybody know? I tried to call but only got a machine there today. If I learn more about it, I'll post up something. Hard to believe they could beat our simple lifestyle and sharing community in the 'outback' at Miguels.
