Ok i was under the impression that all climbers where the laid back cool all loving peacefull type and i had always seen this at the red untill this weekend a buddy of mine was late for climbing so just to make his night better we hit up one last route in the dark only to find the biggest prick on earth at the crag another "climber" had left his gear on a route and was off ten routes down climbing another route so instead of climbing it ourselfs and taking the chance of falling or dropping his gear we decided even though we where in a hurry to let him climb it himself and get and clean his own shit he had left hanging on his abonded route and he was everything but thankfull instead of a nice hey guys i appreciate it he came over and cursed allot to us and acused us of wanting us to have him as a rope gun even though we offered him gear and a rope to use he still found it essential to try to degrade us since he owned phantasia wall and he was allowed to keep three routes up own his own all i want to know is has anyone else been running into random dicks at the red i love the place and i would apreciate the respect that my friends and i show to everyone else so JEFF from phantasia wall at 8 last sun. dont be a dick learn to respect other climbers and as much as i would like to say fuck u i won't

next time, if someones rope is on a rout and they are not, pull it. Maybe ask first but if they are no where near ready to get on it, then pull it. At best, offer to put it back up for them.

He was probably tired of hearing you drone on in giant meandering sentences that are impossible to follow.

kisor740, You must not have gotten the meno, climbers are entitled to climb anywhere they want and claim a whole cliff to themselves for the whole day. This is especially true for large groups of college students with one or two alpha-climbers who are "leading" the group.

Sarcasm aside, sorry that happened to you. I am hearing more and more stories like this - very sad. I agree with Krampus, next time that happens just pull the rope and climb it.
