Hitting up PMRP for the first time this weekend and taking some newbies along. Searching the forum makes The Shire sound like a good alternative to the Roadside climbs I've done too many times to count; and there are other newbie-friendly walls in the same general area. Reading the description doesn't do much for a visual guy like myself. So if someone could hand-hold me and mark where The Shire is, that would be great :D

It's adjacent to North 40 on the same approach by a hundred feet or so.

You also pass Courtesy Wall and Rival Wall on the way.

exit the Sore Heel parking lot from the back left corner. there's a trail that soon goes over a small bridge. head left down the road until it ends narrows down to a trail. pass a boulder on the left and shortly after there will be a trail on the right. head up that trail. and don't go to Oil Crack or I'll kick your ass!

its all one big wall. kinda like military or left flank or long wall but for some reason people feel the need these days to break long walls up with different names which can be confusing. So head out the back of the parking lot find the wall and go left you'll find it.

Walk along the very large trail from the sore heal parking lot. Its the one on the other side of the small creek. Until it comes to a normal size trail. Look up to the right and you'll see rocks. Thats it.

If you go over there, make sure you get on Amarillo Sunset.

When people say back, or back left of the parking lot, it's the southeast corner. Same side as the message board, but the opposite corner.

as far as "corners" of the parking lot, if you consider the corner you drive in as the near left corner, the trail would be in the far right.

now, if you walk backwards on your hands, it could be the front left, or side rear depending on your stability
