suggestions for 5.11c-5.11d sport

Post by olive »

Hi all,
I have been onsighting/redpointing 5.11a/5.11b's at the Red in the spring. I am looking to try/do more 5.11c/d's this fall. What are some of your favorite routes at these grades? I am better at vertical/slightly overhanging, technical stuff, but what really gets me motivated is 1) variety in a climb, 2) aesthetic lines. Any suggestions?
Thanks a bunch...

if you haven't been to Bronough wall, go do the three 11b's there. they are pretty sweet lines and make for a good day.

i don't have time for a long list but here you go:
Sky Bridge: Physical Graffiti, Sick Puppies, Martin Rides Again,
Funk Rock: The Infidel, There Goes the Neighborhood
Military: Minimum Creep, Government Cheese, BBBB

i could go on for a while but i've gotta go to work and I am realizing i'm not great at differentiating great from ok. but the routes i've listed are pretty damn good and those crags have decent concentrations at those grades. good luck

Spirit Fingers 11c at Drive By

Forearm Follies 11d to the first set of chains at Military

Get a ticket for Torrent and do these at the 11 wall...
Centerfire (11c)
Recoil (11d)

...and start thinking about 12s?

How can you mention Sky Bridge without "Dave The Dude". It has all the criteria, and is the best 11 there.

The Bib wall
Oh man, he is messing that up. However, he is missing his left leg so that way would probably be harder for him. SCIN, just before spraying some beta for a climber doing a route the WRONG way.

I've had more success on 12a than 11d.

If you're onsighting and redpointing 11s, you should be able to get to the top of most 12a's and then you can decide if you think you can redpoint 'em.

Just a thought...
