Can someone point me to the piece Bill Ramsey wrote detailing his decision to move from South Bend and Notre Dame to Vegas and UNLV? What medium was it in, website, anything.
thanks- The Lurkist

Man, I remember that piece too. But I just can't remember where it was.

thanks. Bill said it well. "Meaning is not of life, but in life."

yeah, this piece is brilliant.
it does a nice job of drawing equivalences between the various things that compose a life. for me it helps reinforce the notion that careers are things we use to provide for climbing, and NOT things that somehow supersede the other endeavors that make us tick.
in other words, it's all about ticking.

Freud said everyone seeks the same fundamental things in life- to love and be loved, and to have meaningful work. I believe this, but I think Freud neglected to mention in his equation the spice, which is in our case, climbing. It gives meaning, but can't be the sole meaning.
