so now that i am on the downhill side of my 30's and i don't climb as hard as i once did. or perhaps cannot dedicate that much of my life to climbing and therefore don't pull down like i used to...i wondered if i could adjust my climbing ability too. i mean all of our economic data are adjusted for inflation...real wage, real exchange rate, real money balances, etc. it seems only fair, right?

1. if you have a mortgage, add one letter grade.
2. add one letter grade for each child you claim on your income tax return
3. if you can use a 1040 EZ for your income tax return, subtract one letter grade.
4. if you take maintenance medication for high cholesterol, add one letter grade.
5. add one letter grade for every high school reunion your class has held (you didn't actually have to have attended it).
6. if you haven't graduated from high school, subtract 2 letter grades.
7. if pigsteak has made you watch "the bachelor" with him, add a letter grade.
8. if you own a copy of johnny's first RRG climbs guide book, add a letter grade.
9. if you own a lawn mower, add a letter grade. add two, if it's a riding mower.
10. add a letter grade for each harness you have had to retire.
11. subtract a letter grade if you can't describe your day of climbing without using the words "brah" or "rad".
12. if you're sponsored by evolv, subtract 2 letter grades.

i figure that is only a dozen variables. can we come up with some more?

btw, i now consider myself real 13c climber. 8). i am so going to score tonight, brah.

13. Subtract 3 letter grades if you are no longer in school and supported (or some children may say sponsored) by your parents.

FINALLY, a gumbie scale I can relate to

1. check
2. check X5
5. check X2
9. check X3 (tractor)
10. check X2

dadgum, I'm a 5.15 climber

does it also add to grade if the last stupid mistake you made was because you forgot making the same mistake too long ago???

Yes finally i get the credit i deserve. Here is my day of climbing.

Wake up at 5 Feed all the livestock
Clean stalls cut fire wood or some such crap.
Try to leave before the kids get up and beg to go.
But not so early i have to wait hours on Don Mcglone
Climb at least one hard route(11ish) and as many easy ones as i can
try and talk Don out of starting up a route as the sun goes down
drive home
feed livestock again
play with the kids (they will be fired up because they missed me)
bathe
eat
sleep

couple of more modifiers:

15. Add one grade for each 5 years you have held the same job (fast-food industry doesn't count)

16. Subtract one grade for any climb done in manpries
