Lander, WY

Does anyone know anything about camping/living in Lander WY?
I have a job developing software from my laptop and am trying to figure out a good place to stay for about a month. Anyone ever spend any time there and know about wi-fi access, avalablitity of people to climb with, and places to live near the city?

Lander has some nice, free camping at the wild iris, and a little bit in sinks, but it is very primitive. You can stay in the park in town for three days at a time, which is pretty cool. Last time I was there, there were a couple coffee shop type places that had wifi, but one was only open in the AM.

also i know a bunch of guys that you'd enjoy climbing with..... that place is pretty damned fun ... and there's usually people about to climb with. make friendly with the folks working in wild iris (gear store)
and the coffee shop is now a burrito joint and it rules

It was easy to find camping up by Wild Iris, but like Wes said it is primitive. Those friggin marmots will invade your campsite when the get a whiff of your food cooking.

i would bet money they don't have wi-fi, but if you're looking for some local flavor and maybe even a fight... the merc in atlantic city is a just a few miles from wild iris. was challenged to a road race across the desert back in 98 by a couple of guys that i am sure just walked right off a wes craven set....

If you are going to be in Lander and like Thai food, you should definitely go to the Big Noi Restaurant. It is Great.
