Lately, I've been looking for alternatives to getting cortisone shots every 6 months for my shoulder. About a month ago I started taking glucosamine and the results have been incredible. the chronic pain is gone, and seemingly so has the inflammation. strength is returning and my shoulder doesn't hurt while holding a newspaper...

any other OTC supplements out there I should know about that have helped others out?

That's great news, Rags. Glucosamine helps me as well.

I am going to have a session with an herbalist soon. I will let you know what she suggests.

It's all the rage with kids these days, "heroin this" and "heroin that". Really, I just want some good old rubber cement, you know?

Bee stings.

I have wiped out carpel tunnel, elbow tendonitis, and various other joint related ailments with bee venom. For seven years after my back surgery my big toe and inside of foot had no feeling at all. I couldn't even begin to do a toe hook. July 2006 I visited a friend in California who had gotten a bee hive for the purpose of doing bee venom therapy (BVT). To this day he still has not tried it. I started with one sting just behind the toenail. My toe was so numb I didn't feel a thing. About an hour later I had the sensation of a nail being driven through my toe. Over the next 24 hours the sensation came and went. By the end of the week I was up to 12 stings per day. This was too many. I later found out that I did everything wrong. But, I stil had good results. I still do not have full feeling in the toe/foot, but, I have almost full strength. A local bee keeper lets me collect as many bees as I want. I also collect bees from local flowers.

I find BVT gives me bigger erections. Seriously though, try formulations that contain glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM.
