The Kentucky climbing team gave up the ghost today and bailed from Sickle. Reports had them trying to bail at the 15 foot level of the first pitch but a quick cell phone call to the groups illustrious leader, who was hauling water to be base, was greeted with horror at the prospect and the minions were ordered onward to the end of the pitch as no one in recorded history had ever bailed from such a low level on the route.
As a result the leader himself, a trusted member of my personal posse, took charge and dragged the others, crying for mommy, up to Sickle where it is generally agreed that bailing from is acceptable. Oh the humanity!!

No, definitely from KY........likely looking for the bolts and just figured they had it in the bag. They didn't "bail" from sickle, just figured it was the top of the Nose!

[quote]Nose: I heard from a guy at the bridge yesterday that two of his buddies from Wisconsin were on the route. I didn’t see them so I sort of let it pass thinking they probably were bailers as it was their very first wall of any kind. Well surprise, surprise!! They were seen this morning climbing off Dolt Tower and heading for ECT. The woman, Rachael Melville, and her partner, Eddy Avalone seemed to have everything under control. She was doing some nice free climbing above Dolt and they did do a sort of “space haulâ€

"Zodiac: My man Matt Thomsen went over the top today around 1pm and I am sure is just about sick to death of aid climbing on the Captain right now! He made a nice ascent for his first solo on the Great Rock." -elcap report 6/7/08 supertopo.com

I think this kid climbs in the red and he is sending the big stone.

Danyo and Ron did a great job on the captain and would have sent if we had more time to wait out the crowds and if the weather would have stayed good.

They got a hell of a lot farther then most of a you all will ever get up el cap. so stay in ky and keep thinking your doing BIG things in this climbing world....

A cup of humility would go a long way with that misplaced condescension there little boy.
