I find that as I age I am progressively climbing better. I am looking positively to a future of fun, friends and tougher grades in the Red and elsewhere. Eventually I will hopefully be climbing harder than that old hard ass, Pigsteak. That will be good.
oops the future is so bright, I really better put these on.

After I met Fred Beckey for the first time in the early 90's I aspired to be like him when I grew up. His outlook seems to be that it is all good as long as you are climbing. Fred is always looking for new projects and partners to climb them with. I think as long as you keep the passion for climbing you will enjoy it for a long time.

Going up!
Since there is a certain public humiliation factor in the climbing community, I'm going to give it a real go now.
Me: turning 50 in a little more than a year
New goals for me climbing at 50: Able to flash "real" 5.12s, lead trad 5.11s
I'd better hurry...
Now I just need some seasoned (sic) climber to let me follow them up some harder trad routes so I can learn to not kill myself on gear placement.
Larry...help!
Oh, thanks in advance for the encouragement

The climbs I remember best are when I followed someone up something harder than I wanted to lead and got spanked. It was still awesome giving it everything just to get to the top. Always gives me incentive to try harder.
