Total friction climbing and run out; but good, if that is what you are into!

I have climbed there and it is pretty easy to get around. I think I stayed at the state campgrounds and I do believe they lock the gate after a certain time at night.

Have climbed there quite a bit since moving to NC. Easy to get to. Camping available in the state park campgrounds there. Very short, very easy approach. If you haven't done NC friction slab yet, it's a real trip. 30 foot runouts are normal; have done a 150 foot pitch with only one available piece of protection.
Only 2 routes that really take gear - Great Arch and the first pitch of No Alternative, both are well known classics. Other than that, having a few small cams (C3/Alien, and maybe a .4 or .5 C-4) and some small nuts comes in handy for that rare time when you can actually get a piece of gear in.
It's south facing and it gets hot quick if the sun's shining on the upper pitches.
The Pulpit is a great route if the routes off the Tree Ledge are crowded. If you have the right gear to protect the first pitch of Grand Funk Railroad (or if you don't mind about a 40-ft ground fall potential), that also is a great route that is rarely climbed. Been on the upper pitches but not the first one - looks like a couple of Ball Nuts might protect it.
Have fun!
