The thing is, for every person that bashes the RRGCC there are probably 20 times that amount in support. You may not hear the silent supporters but that doesn't mean they can be lumped in as opposition. Our country is full of opposition in every facet (smoking bans, politics, etc.). Shoot, my company just changed their profit sharing to a 401K and is giving each employee a 6% raise so that the company is essentially paying each employees' contribution so the company can match it. It's a win win situation and people are STILL bitching about it!!!
The key is to listen to the criticisms and decide whether they're rational or not. If they're rational then they should be viewed as constructive criticism...not opposition. I see rhunt's view as such.
The nature of this board attracts vocal and opinionated people. You can't see this as the voice of the climbing community but should appreciate the concerns mentioned. Feedback should always be appreciated, whether good or bad.
Good luck getting the peace and harmony stabalized. I appreciate you admitting your bitter attitude towards the climbing community and I hope you can eventually learn to let those negative feelings go.

gretchen,
lol..I know..we were thinking along the same lines. Sometimes it sucks being in charge...things fly out of control, and you have no way of stepping out of the fray. We still need to meet this summer and share some pie at Miguels. Your passion for the red is contagious.

Who the hell are you?
You keep me laughing piggy... I mean, just because you donate blood to the Red Cross your not going to ask their CEO to step down.

but by the way andy, yes, if I was a stockholder in any company, I have the right to ask for a resignation. In fact, I just voted on a proxy last week for that.

Man, I wish that I had been able to log on today. I still stand behind what I have said. I support the mission of the RRGCC, I will continue to support that mission and to donate my time and money (though I rarely have any anymore).
Gretchen, I'm also proud of the work that I did on Rocktoberfest and when I volunteered for the RRGCC. I am also fully willing to admit that I was also stubborn, difficult to work with at times and allowed my ego to get the best of me. Because of that, you and I fought like two wet cats thrown together into a pillow case. If the coalition is embarrassed that I represented them even briefly, well then the organization just needed something that I was unable to give. That's fine with me. From the support I've been given from the members of the organization, however, I don't believe it. I believe that your words were intended to anger and hurt. So were mine. We both believe what we said. I sleep very well at night because I am comfortable with my actions.
Oh and Piggie, I know you got my back baby..and also, I am very disappointed that you aren't at least a teeny-weeny bit afraid of me in person. I try so very hard to be intimidating...DAMN. It's the dimples isn't it...
