Yep, I'm ok. Just a little more scared of falling now. But hopefully time and lots of TRing will help cure that. Almost let someone talk me into leading on Fri, but decided against it. I will when I'm ready.
One more thing...if I've already done a few routes and I'm starting to get tired, I'm more likely just to TR a route than I am to lead it unless I absolutely know that I have enough strength to make it to every bolt.

SKIN: You rock. I came back on to suggest that you put Air Canada's name up as Lead Ass but I didn't even have to. I should have known that you'd be on it.

KYSarah: I've never taken a fall of the magnitude that you did, but I did sprain my ankle and took a couple of scary ones. Many just take your time getting back in there. Don't do anything you are uncomfortable with b/c you'll burn yourself out. You go girl!

See this is what I hate about you f'ing "A lead ist" climbers. I Think that its fine that you lead. But you shouldn't put pressure on inexperienced climbers who are not comfortable with leading on the sharp end! They get hurt, Then they quit climbing. All so you can fulfill your fantasy of about how much of a man/strong climber you are. You bunch of over-blown egomaniacs! Get a real F'ing life!! Go do something that counts.
You hurt/scare people. YOu need to think about why/what you are doing!

Nobody forced me to start leading. I only started because I felt I was ready. I was taught how to properly lead and I was comfortable knowing that I was able to lead the right way. Maybe you like to say I'm an inexperienced climber because I've only been climbing for 7 months, but I have gotten a lot of experience within that time to allow myself to feel that I'm progressing according to ME and the way that I feel. I climb when I want to. I lead when I want to and I TR when I want to.

Well,I'm happy for you.
But that doesn't excuse this "elitist/a lead ist" type behavior.

Excellent stance KYS. You have expressed yourself very well. You could have just said: Save a tree - eat a beaver and that would have scored almost as "big".
As many have mentioned above, it's all about the climber and each climber at the time of the climb. What you feel should be what you want... because in the end, TR or LEAD: it's YOU on that rock, so do as YOU please.

Uh, KYSarah, that is an unacceptable answer as it does not conform with RRC.com Policies and Standards Governing What New Climbers Do vs. What Experienced Climbers Think They Should Do. On an unspecified date, a board admin will arrive at your place of residence to admisiter the flogging. Thank you for being part of RRC.com and we look forward to your future posts!
