I don't particularly know or care given I suck, but methinks piggie has justified more points for trad. The only way to reward everyone is change the points scale to reflect exponential increase in difficulty and then put the points ranking and routes ticked rankings on the same page as separate but equal measures of accomplishment. Or just leave everything alone and leave people with something to debate else we get stuck with another knee pad thread.
