Numbers, numbers, compare, compete, progress . . . Some just do it to be outdoors, no pressures to do x,y,z, just to enjoy. There aren't any excuses, only justifications to explain that 'progress' and 'certain numbers' are not the goal for everyone. Don't care what rating a climb is, only if it gave me a good time. Whether or not it's an 'onsite' or not, 10, or 12, multiple tries. . .doesn't really matter
Sure ... you say that now, but wait until you start sending. Those 9s and 10s may become an enjoyable 10-15 minutes of your climbing day and you'll find yourself wanting bigger challenges.

That trend may occur, or not. In the meantime, it's my deal and my head. No one else is in there, knowing more about my motivations than I. Thanks though.

Climbing is all about the challenge and most of us do it for the same reason Jesus did it, for the chics.

And seriously, what's more challenging that finding a girl in the climbing community?

Seriously, if you want to send harder and have a long and prosperous climbing career, then the number one thing you must do is:

Always wear a Jimmy when doing the humpty hump.

That way you won't get your current climbing chic preggers and you will be able to climb forever (or at least until you die your lonely death). Number one career ender - family. If that happens then you will be climbing for the nature and the experience (the false path), and not for the domination, conquest, and victory over nature (the true path).

The previous statement is almost universally true unless you are Toy.

what i fail to understand is that if someone asks how to get better it is assumed, nay, branded onto them that they are a noob(god i hate this word) or unmotivated. without asking what grade they are trying to improve to. maybe from 10-11 or 12-13 or from gay to really gay. maybe it was a blanket question by someone that already crushes all of your routes and dreams, and your girls uterus while YOU are out chasing numbers.

say you have a debilitating wrist problem and can only squeeze so hard even though you try like hell. to you your "doing your best" but since their number doesn't match yours then that person must be unmotivated. don't quite get it.

Horatio i might be a homo but even so we know that my number is bigger than yours and that's what all of this comes down to.

I don't know tray. Just look at the routes that I get excited about these days. I think your theory holds water
