right, now you're getting it. if I were to work in a coal mine, I'd probably look into getting some sort of mask with an air filter. do you need OSHA to tell you that?

let's look at the consequences of this ban...

1. you will have to go the entire meal without a smoke, and that's like an hour or so...

2. you will have to go outside to smoke while drinking, well gee no wonder y'all are upset you probably don't have the lung capacity to handle that amount of exercise.

Personal responsabilty is a good thing for sure. And I think sometimes there are to many rules to protect people from themselves for sure. In this case, I personally feel that the 30 percent of Lexington that smokes shouldn't have the ablity to negitivily infulence the 70 percent that don't.

Besides, don't you live in Boulder? Do they have an indoor smoking ban?

yes, boulder has a smoking ban. no, I don't agree with it. also, I'll rarely go into a bar that allows smoking (the choice which is supposed to be left up to the owner, not others).

so, most of you are failing to address the issue - that being property rights. do you feel that you are somehow entitled to at least partial ownership of other people's property? explain.

you open something to the public then you must realize you will have to conform to some rules, like health regulations and such.

don't like it, don't open it to the public...

I was waiting for someone to mention this and it's something to consider. I acknowledge that there are such rules in place - it's just that they're WRONG. again, though a business may be open to the public, it is still a business which someone owns. In all likelihood, that someone ain't you.

Look for many clubs and bars to become "private clubs" where there is some silly $1 membership fee open to anyone. That's what I would do. The funny thing is that most of you anti-property rights people will continue with your agenda and try to force private clubs into behaving the way you want them.

well while we're are at it, let's allow smoking, maybe forget about handicap accessibility, hell don't worry about emergency exits(there's never going to be a fire anyway)...

oh and maybe i'll let that chicken sit on the counter for a while, and if employees want to wash their hands after taking a crap i'll leave it be their choice.

it's my building i can do what i want...

well remember this if you ever get food poisoning, or trapped in a club on fire...it was your choice to go...

my entire point of it is there are lots of different regulations that businesses are require to conform to (you are required to get various construction permits for your house too), this ban in principal isn't any different from health regulations, emergency exits, etc...

if you are against the ban then you should get involved and work to repeal all of these regulations...
