A number of years ago,I and several co-worker were doing some environmmental field work in the hills of northwest Virginia and had a Twilight Zone moment when we walked right into the middle of a Civil War battle reenactment.

Alan, im assuming you did the hike up on top of the mesaabove all of the ruins? my car was broken in to up there, first case ever in chaco. haha lucky me

That's amazing. There were a lot of people there both days we were hiking. I couldn't do the whole loop hike, my left ankle, knee, and hip were killing me so I limped back after reaching the ruins on the top. Here's slideshows of all the pictures from the trip:
