GWG, this is what I'm talking about.

http://www.bittersweetgear.com/petmicropgra.html

J.H.'s friend, Jonathan, in Vegas (a great guy who used to live in Cincy until the Summer) that let me crash at his place for my Solar Slab climb in Red Rock Canyon showed me this thing and had nothing but praise for it. He said the previous version he had could be loaded backwards, and thus, wouldn't do a damn thing to arrest one's fall, where as this device was "idiot proof". Johnathan likes to climb at the Canyon a lot (it's 30 minutes away, COME ON!), but can't always find a partner after work, so he rigs the top rope, then climbs with the microcender. This thing is really cool and tiny.

captain static,
Don't know if you know the names of people who work at RQ - but I was the poor pathetic soul that Gary was whipping as I climbed like a drunk monkey up the wall.

OK, so it wasn't THAT bad - he's a great mentor/ instructor - has given me tons of good advice and doesn't ever let me give up without good reason. He was a little ticked off about the horn-blowing too...I heard quite a few scoldings going on but it didn't do much good.

Look around for me next time you're there... I usually have on a green bandana and have a relatively noticeable pheonix tattoo on my shoulder. I am there on weekends for now, hoping to get in during the weekdays soon if I can hog-tie a partner.

So if I walk into CT Cinci Thursday night I can probably find someone to either climb with or introduce me to bouldering? I have fondled a few bouldering caves but not really committed to any of them. I hope to be able to get there by 7pm.

Lemme know.

There are a whole group of people that know each other up there...and help the newbies...just ask Matt or Patti (owners) who to look for...there is a guy that works there...damn I can't remember his name...but he it taller with longer dark hair (cute) he's really nice. I don't know if these people come every Thur.

There's Stacia, older married gal...doesnt look older though...she's tiny tiny...and if Angenette (sp?) and Bryan (sp?) (married) are there...she'll show you the ropes too...Sonia is a sweetie. Oh and I think Mike Lyons might work on Thur night too...guess you might want to print this out and take it with you.
There's also some nice guys up there...my bf...Eric...both arms are tatooed
Tony...spikey black hair....um...yeah just ask the workers they'll set you up.

I may be up there too...bc of an interview...who knows!!

Have fun!!

We were hoping you'd come last night!

LLR - I had hoped to be there Tuesday night too but work intervened. Can't complain though, I enjoy my job.

OK - so I will be there around 7 and look for that long list of people you kindly offered! Thanks!

Ynot - thanks, if you were going to go Thursday night anyway it would be great to meet up.

And I know it's been mentioned before, but these Internet names make things very interesting! I feel a bit like Moe on the Simpsons!! "Is there a Jock, a Jock Strap here....phone call for Jock Strap!!" haha Look for the girl roaming around yelling: "YNOT? YNOT?!" haha Hopefully the CT people are used to it and won't have me removed from the premises.

OK - Finally made it to CT.

I love the crash mat set-up. Looks like someone looted a gymnastics wharehouse of all their mats! Also great system of being able to sit and watch everyone work the problems...since that was my first time ever bouldering, I learned A LOT and lost a nice chunk of skin as well.

Maybe next time I will actually be able to send that problem I worked at all night...one can dream right? I'll definitely be back. (Though RQ still rocks as far as routes and walls go...they should offer a joint membership!)

Ynot, thanks for showin me around!
