Thanks Paul - i figured i must be doing something wrong! :-)

as for visuals - the only problem i've noticed is when my friend tried to bring up the search on his phone (not iphone) the yellow text came up first. then it took FOREVER for the dark background to show up to make it readable. that *might* be something worth considering. granted, we were in the gorge so we had a slower connection, but it was frustrating waiting on the background colors to load so we could see the results. then again, as my friend says, i have the patience of a gnat

I found an issue that you may like to know about. If you search for something with an "apostrophe" in it, well, that doesn't seem to work when you hit the search button. For instance, type in God's Own Stone. I'm using Mozilla FireFox when this is happening.

Tried it on Bozo's Bogus Booty Biner too, same thing. If I search for BBBB though then it finds it just fine.

now my problem is the constant popup reminder to upgrade from IE6...I usually access the guide from work (hospital) computers (dreaming my climbing dreams squeezed between cases) You know I cannot upgrade to anything since I cannot have admin status; please make it stop

Oh, how about a small widget on the forum main page with something like number of new comments, new routes, etc? Nothing big, just a kinda summery to click on if you want to. That way you don't have to visit the main guide page to see if there is anything new. And, if you do log into the forum, but don't visit the guide, you loose the "since last login numbers"

Hey all, if you're bored then go through the routes in the online guide and tag them. Just click the add/edit tags button which will bring up a selection of tags to choose from. The tags stick with the route and are consolidated into a graph on the charts overview page. It's pretty cool.

Lots of functionality in the new guide and appreciate all the work put into it, but man, it is painfuly slow. Can some fat be trimmed so that it loads like the old guide?
I'm on my iPhone and if I weren't drinking a beer after a day of climbing, I wouldn't have the patience to get on the guide, much less try to navigate around it.

I have to say, I don't have much trouble with the format, but I cant find the maps of the areas that used to exist.

Also, can we tone down the rules and regulations of muir and pmrp. That pop up is starting to drive me nuts, every rout, every area, every time I hit the back button, I agree its important and like that its there but if it could somehow be limited to one pop up per visit to the site that would be great.

When you are logged in just scroll to the bottom of the message and hit "OK" or whatever it says you lazy bum. Then you won't see it too often.
