local what? everyone wants to claim "local"..but to what? you mean a kid born and bred in say, a cincy suburb, but never in the gorge is more local than the buckeye who has spent 10 years traipsing in the gorge? nonsense....just because you are born in an area or a state doesn't give you some divine "ownership" or special privileges. believe it or not, your OWN birth had ZERO to do with you. it was luck...good or bad

Kentucky has better rock, Ohio has better gyms... I'd rather have better rock. Although, I hear the climbing at Lake Vesuvius near Ironton, OH is looking pretty good these days.

sorry piggy, if your not from kentucky your just a tourist, now I don't know how long a transplant has to live in kentucky to be considered local, but at long as the yankee stank is gone then i'd say its ok. (probably never happens if your from some shithole like bloomington, ill or cincinatti oh)

lol kramp....i wasn't talking about me. i am happy with where i grew up, and have no need to pretend. example: isn't RRO from Tenn.? but them living down there 24/7 for the last several years i say gives them local status..but you city-fied l'ville wannabe's born in kentucky (albeit in a megapolis..) have more in common with a new yorker than a wolfe countian. ...sorry...facts are facts.

damn pig, why do you have to dig so deep? its a bit of a touch subject

I try to forget about that part of my life, but the truth is that while I claim kentucky, I am really just a yankee transplant too. Grew up in New orleans and chicago burbs. Not something worth mentioning, (I gotta rep to keep ya know) But I have been here for 15 years and my great granddaddy was a bootlegger near E-town, got ran out by the law and moved to Il. And yeah, taint no wolfe county but there is plenty of kentucky in neighborhood.

its OK kramp....people claim local status when it benefits them, and deny it when they think it won't be cool. you, my friend, are a total sell out and have no street cred to blemish in the first place.
think about brentucky..isn't he from waaaay western KY? heck, he has more in common with IL than the gorge. Carbondale is an hour from his home town, and the red is like 3 hours..he clearly is not from KY, even if his birth cert. says otherwise. please let him know.
