being one of the 162, it'd be cool to go a little further w/ the grudge feature. as of now, your grudges are automatically deleted once you tick the route. what if you could view past grudges along w/ the date added/sent, etc?
i also like rollo's suggestion, but if you're sharing spray, then any routes sent by the person you're sharing w/ that you haven't sent are red, so grudges would have to be a different color.
The part about people not using the grudges does not surprise me.... without some color you don't even realize they are there. Didn't know red was already used tho... bummer. I'll leave the color up to you
p.s. my other post said this to further explain myself..
" I was thinking it would be cool to highlight your grudges in red to go along with the blue highlighting for sends. Then the route would be glaring back out at you in an angry color, provoking you to go back out and take care of business!
Actually, I just added a bunch of the easier 11+/12- routes that were in the other thread so I would remember to get on them in the future. I think it would make the grudge feature more useful."
Also, it can't really hurt to add it as a feature cuz if people don't wanna get confused by all the colors they can simply not use the grudge feature like they are doing now....except 162.
And on the third day, God created the Red River Gorge(by conjecture), and he saw that it was good.
i think it'd be cool if you could watch multiple people (kind of like sharing spray), and the main guide book page would list recent sends of your friends...kind of like a facebook news feed.
For example:
"Paul3eb sent Ale-8-One (5.12b) on 2-24-09"
or
"Paul3eb earned 225 points on 2-24-09, and moved up 5 spots to 27th place"

I like this idea...

I am sure someone has thought of this - but how about tracking total vertical miles for our sends. There needs to be just compensation for doing doing long choss routes....
I've been a gumby longer than you've been climbing.
I think I saw this on here a while ago, but what about a to-do list? It wouldn't necessarily be a 'grudge', just something I see in the guide that looks cool, that I want to remember to get on the next time I'm down.
"But the motto was, never think you're that cool - you're still just climbing rocks...in the woods...with bugs...and everyone thinks you're crazy."
The Online Guidebook page has three sections: Online guide at top, pix lower left, and route comments lower right. I frequent this site more than I like to admit. I always check posts since last visit first. Then I check latest route comments and latest pix. In order to get to the comments and pix I have to page down once in Online Guidebook. I am sure the arrangement of the Online Guidebook page is dictated by usage. If not, rearranging such that all three sections can be accessed without paging down might be in order.
I am not complaining. This is a top notch site. I have designed a fair number of user interfaces over the years in several mediums and am sensitive to unnecessary effort. As I said, stats will tell the real story.
Speaking of pics, I thought of another suggestion. There should be an option to comment on pictures. I was just looking at a picture of Michelle Ellington by Dan Brayak on the front page and it is a freaking sweet picture!
