Unfortunately, I think McCain is a real contender in the presidential race--especially with the still unknown Independent factor. I think it's interesting that the press made such a huge issue out of this BS, especially since the man isn't running on a family values platform. (Didn't he already trade in one wife?) I would think the republicans must be awful relieved he isn't a wide standing cross dresser.

The rest of the world (Europe in particular) has really drunk the Obama punch. It might be more harmful to US credibility abroad for the US electorate to not elect Obama (and in essence rebuke a minority with a middle eastern sounding name thus proving we are a bunch of bigoted red necks with a nuclear arsenal and no aptitude for multiculturalism) than electing McCain, who by most measures would probably do a pretty good job at foreign policy.
