I started climbing because of a hot chick. I asked her how she got so hot & she said she was a rock climber. I decided to go to the local climbing gym to get hot.

It pretty much goes downhill from there.

We assume there is a point to life and therefor being productive is not wasting time, however, we don't know what our purpose is so life is potentially the product of god wasting time and so everything we do is a wast of time. Climbing just happens to be one of the better ways to do so. If you ask "then why live at all if its just a wast of time?" I have about 137 reason for you.

thanks! i definitely kept myself from examining the book at a deeper level, mostly because the guy rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning, but your take makes more sense.

what sucks for you doesn't suck for all/me. i'm very happy with my waste of time. more of a waste than climbing......... being on this website so much. but it's fun blasting the other wasters. i mean wankers.

when did I say climbing sucked for me? I get what you are saying yet why call it a waste of time? How about a pastime? I think its strange how people try to put a value on how others spend their time and judge them for it. That's like me telling you when to take a shit then when you do, I tell you it was a waste of time.
