Arrrrgggghhh! Why did you have to point out a perfectly workable solution to the non-sync issue!?! That's one of the main reasons I don't have one.
must ... maintain self control ... must wait ... wait for 2nd generation .... arrrrrggggghhhh!

guess it's not always good to be an early adapter
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- Apple Inc. slashed the price of the iPhone by $200 Wednesday - a rare move for the company that typically discounts only older products. It also updated its iPod media players, introducing a model with a touch-screen and other iPhone features.
The 8-gigabyte iPhone will be $399 - $200 cheaper than the same model when it went on sale in June. The 4-gigabyte iPhone, which sold for $399, will be phased out. By comparison, the new touch-screen iPods will start at $299.

Yep, 2nd time Apple has really dropped prices on stuff I have bought, but at least the first time they gave me a 200.00 apple store credit. I am not all that bitter, as I have really used my iphone, and it is worth it to me to have had it for a couple months, but the inTRADweb is all aflame. If you were waiting before because of the high price, this should help you make the jump...
The new iPod's look pretty sweet though...

The new iPods are 16GB but that is still not enough space as evidenced by the classic now coming ONLY in a 80GB and a 160GB.

I am waiting for a price drop on the older nanos. I don't really like the new design and won't ever use the video feature.

When they get the memory to 32GB, it will be worth it.

It turns out that the great and powerful Steve (blessed be his name) has decided that iPhone purchasers will get a $100 credit. (Not that he changed his mind or anything. Anyone who claims that Steve ever said anything other than what he says right now is a blasphemer commiting thought crime!)

So, picked up my 3g iphone today - it is pretty cool, and the app store stuff is amazing. Really. Amazing. They are still on back order for 7-10 days, but if you order 16gb white, you may get it way sooner then people that order the other models, at least that worked well for me - only a couple days from order to pickup.
