I did that once and most people didn't like it so I put it back to the Southern Region.

Now that I have read that old thread and have thought about it I kinda agree. People think of it as the Southern Region. Probably the best way to help figure out what crags are where in relation to the PMRP would be on a map.

Again thanks to everyone for their support as generated from this thread, both financial and in expressing interest in volunteering. More information on how to get involved as a volunteer will be provided soon. For me, it is off to an LAC meeting with the Forest Service in Winchester this evening.

I just have to say how much in awe I am of the giving I'm seeing from this fundraiser. 34 people have donated so far a total of $2,402.75 in a little over 48 hours. I'm getting PM's from people in other countries asking what kind of checks to send and to where (Bill, Charlie...I'm saying okay with Western Union checks, okay?). I'm just in complete awe of everyone's generosity. I don't think I've ever been so proud to be a climber.

Whatever the bank will cash is cool. I agree that this is truly awesome. I had no thought that this would take on a life of it's own like it has. We have a lot to be proud of. At the LAC meeting last night I was going around showing the Forest Service people and everybody else I could the Urban Climber cover w/Jen & the article. They were all impressed. At the end of the meeting, Susan Neumeyer from the Kentucky Organization of Professional Archaeologists and myself signed the Memorandum of Agreement between the Forest Service, State Historic Preservation Office, and American Council for Historic Preservation as consulting parties. I also spoke with Ms. Neumeyer and Melissa Twarowski, the Forest Service Archaeologist, about working together to stop the thiefs in the Gorge that see breaking into climber vehicles and looting artifacts as a cottage industry. 2006 is going to be an incredible year for Red River Gorge climbing
