Hum, a party. Not a bad idea! This is a two year old story about to possibly come to a close! That's worth a Celebration or a Wake - depending on your position on the subject.

Email from the USFS this morning, May 10th, 2006 concerning date for opening:
"No firm date yet. We are still looking at possibly next week, but a few things need
to be taken care of first (ie. toilets places, mowing, trash cans put out, etc. etc.)"

From Today's Lexington Herald-Leader, Monday May 15th:

ROADS REOPEN AT RED RIVER GORGE
"Two roads in the Indian Creek area of Red River Gorge will be reopened Friday [19th]. Forest Service roads 9A and 9B have been closed to vehicle access since last winter because of flooding damage. The roads provide access to Indian Creek and the East Fork of Indian Creek. The crossing at Big Amos Creek on road 9B will remain closed but is not expected to significantly affect visitors, according to the U.S. Forest Service."

Have yet to contact the USFS directly to confirm this report. But given the source is the Lexington Herald-Leader - Confidence in the source is high.

Nope KD, they're gone. All gone. I went back there on my bike and took them all down. Removed the hardware, sealed the cracks, and trundled the boulder problems. I think I got all of them except Curiosity, I walked 300 yards to the left but couldn't seem to find it.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
