Proof that bouldering is not a sport in its own.....
Okay Odub, I'm with ya on the part about gym climbing being "practice" climbing, but bouldering is definitely a form of art and lots of fun... and so is sport and trad... hell, ice is probably awesome too (but I've never done that).

but i thought the point of your argument was to say that you did a lot of climbing in one day as opposed to bouldering? now you're talking about hiking. let's talk about hiking...you hiked to torrent, skybridge, and fortress. i'll give it to you that fortress is a bitch-ass hike, but even i can hike to torrent and skybridge in a day. c'mon man you're starting to sound like a bitch backed in to the corner before i stab, kill, then rape her.

Notice that the sport and trad forum are under the Red River Gorge section. Now, also notice that there is very little bouldering in the red. So, it follows that bouldering (along with sport and trad) at areas other then the red, would go into the More Climbing forum.J-Rock wrote:Why is there no bouldering forum?

The point of one comment was to illustrate the point that there are other ways...better ways than bouldering to log mileage.
Yes, Torrent and skybridge hikes are easy. The easy Skybridge hike was twice though...
Regardless, that was one comment as well.
The original point was that bouldering was "practicing".
That noone agreed with me right off the bat suprised me. I expected that at least Wes would recognize the irony, as in an earlier post I stated that "all climbing is practice, if you ever plan on climbing harder". Hell, I've defended bouldering on here as much as I've trashed it.
NOW the point is that people get so caught up in their own "beliefs", and are so adamant that they are right, and only them......that they fail to see irony and humor. There are no open minds, and the people who think they have these wide open minds, are the most closed minded. They're the ones attacking first when they see their beliefs challenged.....
