That's awesome J-Rock, I had no idea box turtles ate meat or could kill and eat small rodents...SWEET

very cool photos, J-Rock and Shaggybill! Thanks for posting them. Oh, and, Bill, yes - my snake is a corn. She's a motley so her pattern is different than what you are probably used to.

I was down at the Red this weekend and I took some pictures of some snakes I found, so I thought I'd share 'em. Theres a couple scenery shots too. I made it both Friday AND Sunday, which was nice because I thought I would only have one day to go.

I dont remember what trail this was, and it was quite a climb to the top, but this view definitely made it worth it.

Here's a dead Timber Rattlesnake I found at the 77 and 715 junction. As was stated earlier, Timbers arent too common in the Red, so this was somewhat disappointing to me.

wow, Bill, those are some great shots! It's funny, we had a climber from the UK with us on Saturday at Muir Valley and were looking for Copperheads as he'd never seen one. We couldn't find any. Normally we see them all the time. Strangely, we didn't see any on Sunday at Tower Rock, either, and I was still looking...

That many snakes in just two days?!?!? **J-Rock, we're done climbing til they're all gone... I'm sure Meadows agrees with me so you and Rhunt can go climb together.

I saw 5 or 6 different species of snakes in one weekend at Muir Valley. They were all friendly except the one that tried to bite me when I removed the loose block that he was living behind.
