yawn rhunt....(meadows likes my "yawn" I hear)

let me see..if you go sailing, do you take due diligence to check weather reports?

if you go to colorado to climb in Eldo or the Flatirons, you check with locals, the rangers, or ther places for the nesting closures...

if you ski, you check the internet, weather channel, or call the resort for conditions..

my point is this... unless you are living in a cave, you KNOW that the Murray Purchase has been in the works for a long time now....take some time to do a bit of homework..there are many avenues to get the answers, unless people just want to ignore them.

example, "balls" kept asking for closures on her, kept getting smart ass answers, and I finally suggested he go directly to the RRGCC website and email them. Within 30 minutes, he had his answer.

Of course the internet is not the only place to go for answers....but it goes back to personal responsibility, and finding out closures before climbing.

Designated parking at the kiosks, gates over other roads, the miguel's kiosk, their website...jesus people, what else do you want?

This board is getting really depressing. I wish the PMRP issue could be discussed in a positive light. We're so much better off today than we were last year. Thanks to the few of you who are brave enough to post that it was a big accomplishment and that the RRGCC volunteers have done their very best. I hope you really reflect the majority of climbers.

pig..of course I check the internet first but even in this day and age not all people have that luxury.

If climbing at the Arena and Oil Crack could cause a possible future access issue or if we could be charge with tresspassing then we should all stay out of there. I have not been to the new parking area...sore heel hollow, so I don't know what is written on the kiosk but I sure hope it states the possible damage that could be cause of one were to climb at those areas!

Artsay, I never got into this for popularity, that's for sure. I talked to Shannon years ago and saw her need for help, bottom line. My involvement has just evoled over time as the projects have grown. Never looking for a freakin medal. I have been extremely frustrated with the continued RRGCC bashing and that certainly has come across in my posts over time. Nothing about being righteous. Unfortunitly for me I do get to see the whole picture, it's frustrating that we can't share everything but it really sucks that we can't get the support of the community on the whole. Actually that's a wrong statement. We can't seem to get the Local flavor to support their home crag. The ones that travel seem much more appreciative on the whole. I guess the kids don't like what the mother is cooking...
Just genuinely disengenuous.

Well Piggie, you're right and wrong.

I did get a plethura of smart ass responses. Some folks seem to think I can't read....

I read the RRGCC site posting on the issue several times and couldn't really find a cut and dry answer.

We decided to go up there and check things out. We found SEVERAL cars parked right at the gate and were astonished at the number of people at the Arena.

We decided since we weren't parking next to any oil rigs or blocking any roads that climbing there wouldn't be an issue. We spoke with a man and his son who appeared to be locals and they told us the oil company never came up there on weekends anyway.

So if parking is available without blocking roads, which I understand to be Charmanes primary complaint, what's the fucking problem?

there ya go folks..straight from balls mouth..(ouch, that didn't sound good)

brah, I can't tell you, because I am not in the know on these issues. I just know that the rrgcc has asked us to be patient, and I can afford to NOT climb there until they give us the 100% clear. that's all...

how was trad day?

A word to those seeking any information about anything about the rrgcc purchase or any acces issue: DOn't bother to ask here. Go to the coalition website, which is dedicated to fielding those questions. And besides, if you ask here, here are the responses you will get.
1) I don't like you because you asked a question.
2) you are stupid because you asked a question
3) How dare you ask a question?
4) You are stipid because you are ugly or
5) are not a REAL climber, and may be
6) just a wanker because you
7) wanking asked a wank wanking question, and
8) piss off you dumb wanking wanker.

should you feel this inappropriate, realize that-
1) you may indeed be a wanker.
2) If you are wanking in a no wank zone, you will be punished by pundits, and
3) if you have to ask a question, you are just a wanker.
4) also note that
5) many people here (no offence intended) are not mentally stable and really like to push people's buttons, which, after observing many young people who think they are the center of the world, they will
6) call you a wanker no matter what.

This goes for both sides.
